Moleskine Monday
Imagery
From my creative writing module where I am studying poetry. Imagery is one of those things that people use everyday without realising and is so ingrained in our minds that we use it without thinking.
We call it the eye of a needle, but it isn't an eye. When we try to explain something, we usually tell them it is like something, in order for them to understand, we connect it to something they already know.
The poem, Ode to Salt is by Pablo Neruda, and is a brilliant example of making the ordinary, extraordinary.
